FT Island has demonstrated its potential as a hallyu band once more by topping Japan′s music chart.
FT Island′s new single Puppy ranked number one on Japan′s Recochoku′s daily chart on August 23. Puppy, the title track off of FT Island′s 15th single album scheduled for release on September 16, was pre-released on August 19.
Expectations for the group′s official activities are high with the single peaking a month ahead of the album′s official release. Local fans praised the song, saying "Listening to vocal Lee Hong Gi′s powerful voice makes you feel refreshed as if you′re drinking a carbonated drink," "I′m looking forward to the live performance with a different feel from their previous music" and "The song gets stuck in your head all day because of the exciting rhythm and catchy chorus." Puppy currently has a 4.9 (out of 5) rating on Recochoku.
Meanwhile, since wrapping up an arena tour in Japan, FT Island held an exclusive concert in Guangzhou on August 23 on its Asia tour, 2015 FT Island Live We Will. From the end of September, FT Island will hold a fall tour in Japan, making stops in eight cities for a total of 13 shows.
